Après avoir / être + past participle

A Grade 9 structure meaning ‘after doing something’.

après avoir / après être + past participle

Après avoir mangé, je suis sorti.

After eating, I went out.

Après être allés au cinéma, nous sommes rentrés.

After going to the cinema, we went home.

With être the participle agrees: après être allée… (feminine).

  • Après avoir regardé la télé…
  • Après avoir fait mes devoirs…
  • Après être arrivé…
