Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

House of Languages is operated by Aarav Agrawal (the "Seller", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you enter into a contract with Aarav Agrawal, trading as House of Languages.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or continuing to use House of Languages, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. You confirm that you are at least 13 years old, and if you are under 18, that you have a parent or guardian's permission to use the service and make purchases.

3. The service

House of Languages provides AI-powered GCSE French and German revision practice, including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translation exercises, AI-generated feedback and marking, and collaborative Study Rooms. The service is an independent revision aid and is not affiliated with AQA or any examination board.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the limits of your selected plan. You must keep your account credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the service. In particular, you must not:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose, fraud or spam;
  • infringe intellectual property rights, or upload content you do not have the right to use;
  • interfere with the security or operation of the service, including introducing malware, probing, scanning or scraping the service;
  • reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or circumvent technical limits of the service;
  • use the AI features to generate illegal content, hate speech, harassment, deepfakes or malware, or to attempt to bypass safety controls.

5. AI-generated content

Feedback, marks, model answers and generated practice material are produced by AI and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are for general educational purposes only and are not a substitute for teacher guidance or official mark schemes. You are responsible for how you use AI outputs, for verifying their accuracy, and for ensuring you have the rights to any content you submit.

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to provide the service (for example, to generate feedback). We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter outputs, and suspend accounts that breach these terms. Rights holders may contact us to request removal of infringing content; repeated infringement may result in account termination.

6. Intellectual property

We retain all ownership of the service and its intellectual property, including the software, design, branding and documentation. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

7. Payments, subscriptions and refunds

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Subscriptions renew automatically at the billing frequency you selected until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of your current billing period. See our Refund Policy for details.

8. Service level

We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. We may modify, suspend or withdraw parts of the service at any time, for example for maintenance or improvements.

9. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, fail to pay, pose a security or fraud risk, or repeatedly or seriously violate our policies. When your access ends, your right to use the service stops immediately; we may retain or delete your account data in line with our Privacy Notice.

10. Liability

The service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) to the fullest extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our aggregate liability to you is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.

11. General

You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger or acquisition. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
